Appellant was convicted of burglary of a habitation and a jury assessed punishment at fifty years in prison. The conviction was affirmed by the El Paso Court of Appeals in an unpublished opinion. White v. State, No. 08-84-00348-CR (Tex.App. - El Paso, 1985). We granted appellants petition to determine whether the appeals court erred in holding that a systematic search for stolen property was proper under the "plain view" doctrine and second, whether that court erred in holding that the error in introducing certain fingerprint evidence was harmless.
